Description
It is important to water your plants consistently during the warmer months for at least the first two years, after which you’ll want to monitor them and provide sufficient moisture as and when needed. The point of the pipe is to assist you with directed watering, as it takes the water straight to the roots. Note: if it’s been especially hot and/or dry, you will also want to water over the surface of the soil and on the soil adjacent to the rootzone.
Perforated pipe is most useful when it’s been included in the tree pit or hedge trench during the planting operation. For trees, we suggest wrapping pipe around the rootball, with one end of the pipe remaining proud of the surface for easy hose access. For hedges, we suggest laying the pipe alongside the hedging roots following the line of the hedge, with one or both ends remaining proud of the surface.
Lengths of pipe are only available to purchase with a plant order; they are not sold individually.
