Fagus sylvatica (Beech) – standard

Fagus sylvatica, or Beech, is one of the most popular trees in the UK. It has a lovely medium-green leaf, that is gorgeous when the sun shines through. It can grow to be a large, stately spreading tree, with silvery-grey bark, and is often seen in parks and estates. The leaves turn to burnished bronze in the autumn, and can persist on the tree until well into winter.
